Sing a Sea Shanty | Halloween Edition

YARR SHIPMATES! THE CREW SAILS AGAIN ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 26!

The Bytown Sea Shanty Collective is back for another night of sea shanty-shenanigans at Beyond the Pale! And…you read that right…we want you to dress up!

It’ll be our 2nd sea shanty night & Halloween costume party! We’re teaming up with our pals at BTP to give out some great prizes throughout the night…but…you’ve gotta be in costume to make the cut. Dress like a pirate. A lobster. Your favourite species of shark. A classic ghost. Maybe even a ghost pirate. The sky (or maybe the bottom of the ocean…) is the limit. It doesn’t even have to be nautical (though obviously we’ll probably award an extra point for that…).

We can promise — great beer, great shanties, much merriment and many surprise guests - who knows!

Bytown Sea Shanty is a totally accessible singing experience - there is no cover, no need for background musical experience and no pressure. Come in, grab your favourite glass of grog, and join the chorus crew! We project the lyrics up onto the wall, hand out lyric books, and lead all the shanties so there’s no stress on you! As always, if you’re interested in leading a shanty send us a message!

Want to just sit back and listen? Do it! Want to join in on a chorus of Drunken Sailor? We’d love that! Go where the wind takes you! All we need is for you to bring your enthusiasm and as many friends as possible to sing along on this most spooky of sea shanty nights!
